This proposal for an apartment complex uses an adaptive grid in order to conform to the irregular shape of the site determined by the new Revitalization Plan for the ex-Fiat area of Novoli, designed by Leon Krier and Aimaro Isola. This grid allows a flexible and rational ordering of the space of the new buildings, without imposing any distribution changes that might compromise the composition of the plan.  The plan of the proposal originated from the partition in equal parts of each segment of the irregular perimeter, then the straight lines connect the intersection points with the equidistance to define a deformed mesh and a series of similar areas. The program of the A35 East block provides housing on the higher levels and commercial activities on the ground floor. The architectural system on the ground floor develops a sequence of dialogues between the entry hall and the court, the porch, the square, and the park outside, through the proposal of a fluid pedestrian space, which is characterized by the insertion of three ponds and a sculpture. On the upper floors, the building arranges the apartments around a court yard while also being oriented outward, toward the square. The whole group of apartments follows a spiral sequence. The apartments are typically on one level, but the attic level permits two-storey townhouses. The views look northward to the square, and south to the garden of the Regional office towers. The apartments have large sliding doors opening the living space to wide loggias, which can transform the house in the summer season, while the bedrooms are defined by smaller windows.
