The North and North-East Quadrante of Turin are framed by a significant landscape, with Superga Hill, fluvial parks, Vanchiglia Park, Sempione Park, and finally the linear park of Taranto. All together these green spaces form an indissoluble whole into which the proposal for a new promenade plantèe would cross it longitudinally and transversally. The Sempione Gottardo line forms a sort of green deck, and provides the starting point and constant reference for our proposal, in order to give to the new space an uninterrupted surface. In addition to this concept, the project works horizontally and vertically as a line of continuity. At the center are the pedestrians, as users of the new urban green space provided with facilities: a place to walk, stop, move around and meet each others. Along the new surface of the promenade plantèe, different speeds coexist, there are pedestrians, cars, and finally bicycles. The green deck is paved with a turf grid at the same level as the lawn in order to make a green, but walkable, the surface. The automobile lane is discontinuous and joins the green deck at every pedestrian crossing, in order to increase the attention and reduce the speed of the drivers. A number of transparent and bright ateliers on the parterre, for art and craft production, sit at the northern part of the green promenad. Their roofs provide a platform for the exhibition of art objects. By working in section, between the promenade level and the subway, an underground mezzanine floor emerges with foliage of trees and a group of sculptures at the level of the square. Returning to the promenade, a sort of living room, composed of a series of stone sofas, awaits as a place for people to socialize outdoor.
