The proposal for an environmental and landscape redevelopment of the source of the Piave River, which is at the foot of Mount Peralba, on a meadow between the first belt of a coniferous forest and a peat bog with rare plants and colored lawns, sees the project as a background to a natural phenomena. Here, clouds and fog dominate the atmosphere recalling the hydrological cycle, which concerns the different states of matter, solid, liquid and gaseous. Based on this simple educational experience, the project develops, first of all from the car park, which acquires some new value through the transformation of the solar radiation into electric energy, as it passes through the Cor-ten steel used for the surface of the parking lot. Through heat transfer from the channel drain, water becomes vapor, dissolving the presence of cars. The source door, a vertical steel totem, slides mechanically to inhibit the transit of the cars and at the same time itself shows a map of the sources area. Then, the old road becomes a new paved road with ecological material and fragments of rocks from the Dolomites. The road is dotted with observatories for the contemplation of the landscape in multiple directions. The proposal turns to naturalization of the zone in order to repair the land of its original substrata, partly peat bog and partly spring water. The new shelter is an underground structure formed by the extension of the demolished basement building into the existing slope to minimize the visual impact. The southern side of the roof extends to form a parapet for the terrace, which is a final part of the route of the spring water area. On the sloping roof, a wide window opens to Mount Peralba, recalling the relationship with the sources. The new plan originated from the shape of the natural slope, which seems like an arrow, as if pointing to the water.
